Efficient vehicle owners not only contribute towards making the air cleaner, but also personally benefit from several advantages. Let us take a brief look at the main ones in Ticino:

• Cost per km - Lower fuel consumption is immediately reflected in lower travel costs.
• Road tax - In Ticino, low-powered and low-cylinder vehicles pay a reduced road tax, hybrid vehicles pay only 50%, and light electric vehicles do not pay anything. Moreover, vehicles licensed the first time after 1.1.2009 benefit now from the so-called ecoincentivi, which grant a fee/rebate system with advantages for efficient vehicles.
• Parking advantages - In Ticino, there are more than 95 parking area (often free of charge) and recharging points exclusively for electric vehicles. Moreover, cars with the VEL label can benefit from different parking advantages in several parking places in some towns.  
• Positive image - Driving an efficient vehicle gives a positive image. By being sensitive towards the environment, you also do something good for collective society.
• Financial grants - Some municipalities in Canton Ticino give a financial contribution to their residents if they decide to buy an electric bicycle. We know that this subsidy is currently being offered in the municipalities of Minusio , Losone , Coldrerio and Lumino. 
• Convenient insurance fares - Several Swiss insurance companies grant reductions to their fares. Also some leasing companies offer discounts to efficient vehicles. Find out more.
